Paul purchased Atek Hydrographic Surveys from Hugh Fraser in 2003. He is a registered professional engineer in the province of BC. Although not his primary occupation, Paul has worked in legal, construction, mining and hydrographic surveying. His first hydrographic survey was in 1969 mapping Rupert inlet for the future Island Copper mine development.

Paul also operates PSA Engineering Ltd., which provides design engineering and management to the marine construction field. Having both companies in house provides clients the option of full-service engineering and surveying solutions. His combined client base extends from Alaska to Mexico on the Pacific coast, and into western Canada as far as Saskatchewan.
