Paul purchased Atek Hydrographic Surveys from Hugh Fraser in 2003. He is a registered professional engineer in the province of BC. Although not his primary occupation, Paul has worked in legal, construction, mining and hydrographic surveying. His first hydrographic survey was in 1969 mapping Rupert inlet for the future Island Copper mine development.

Paul also operates PSA Engineering Ltd., which provides design engineering and management to the marine construction field. Having both companies in house provides clients the option of full-service engineering and surveying solutions. His combined client base extends from Alaska to Mexico on the Pacific coast, and into western Canada as far as Saskatchewan.

Kim graduated with a B.Sc. in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In 1973 he took a job as a "chainman" for a legal surveyor in Powell River and has been surveying ever since. In 1980 he worked on the final location survey for the 500KV Cheekye-Dunsmuir Straight of Georgia submarine crossing. There he met Hugh Fraser who was with Northwest Hydrographic Surveys. In 1986 Kim went to work for Hugh at Atek Hydrographic Surveys. Kim has worked in many branches of surveying: legal, engineering, construction, forestry engineering; but hydrographic is his favorite. He acts as a manager and normally operates Atek's shore based equipment.


Janet Lawson : is a graduate of B.C.I.T in Survey Technology, where she has also taught in the survey department. She has practiced legal, engineering, and hydrographic survey for over twenty years, employed by government, private industry, and as a private contractor. Since 1988 she has served as Hydrographer to Atek Hydrographic Surveys. In 1993 Janet worked aboard the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Ship Rainier as liaison officer between the Canadian and US hydrographic services. She has worked on Canada Lands for both the Department of Indian Affairs and the Canadian Hydrographic Service. Janet's survey career has taken her from the Arctic to New Zealand. Her extensive experience allows her to perform all field and office duties at Atek.


Criss French : is a Certified Computer Electronics Technician. He joined Atek in 1990, and has worked on most of our jobs since that time. In the field, he usually operates our survey launch, and is our primary sounder operator. In the office, he does much of our data processing and reductions, mapping, and CAD work. Criss writes our survey data collection and data processing software, and performs the modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of our survey equipment.


Evan Ehgoetz : graduated in civil engineering technology from Fanshaw College in London ON. He also has training and experience in aerial photogrammetry and water surface and channel analysis using HEC-2. Evan is a certified engineering technologist in BC, AB and ON. He has advanced AutoCAD skills and does data reduction, modeling, and produces the final deliverables on many projects. Evan also participates in survey field work both on land and water.
